John Glimmerveen is a former writer for ThoughtCo, contributing articles for six years. Glimmerveen, who was born and educated in the United Kingdom, has been involved with motor sports for more than 40 years. He has rebuilt and restored many classic bikes, starting when he competed in trials, motocross and eventually road racing. Education

John Glimmerveen completed a formal four-year apprenticeship in the UK as a fabricator/welder and obtained City and Guilds certification in fabrication engineering and motorcycle engineering at Crewe College.
